Shop With Me 4-19-19

This week has been super busy so unfortunately no real update on my Burgundy Sampler.

Got a few cool things to share though!

Let’s start strong. Got some more Hand Dyed by Rolanda silk floss. Love the colors and felt like I definitely needed it.

I actually ended up getting some 28 ct dyed fabric from her as well.

It’s a beautiful deep red. I did originally have a plan for it but it isn’t quite big enough for 2 over one and I’m not sure I want to do over one. I’ll definitely be trying to find something for it and may end up requesting a custom piece that is big enough.

Kind of carring on the fabric show off.

Grabbes this from the Mystic Fabrics Facebook page. I just felt like I needed a brown. It’s another not sure what I’m doing with it but I love it lol.

Grabbed these two charts. I actually think that blue would look nice on that Black Cauldron Dyeworks fabric I got back at The Silver Needle.

There’s just a reminder pic. I think those blues will really pop and the fabric will be a nice background to it. The second chart I have no plans for, I just randomly claimed it, because why not.

And as always my big purchase last, although my floss and fabrics are hard to beat this thing is just cool.

I managed to get a Monopoly chart! Super excited to do this. I actually want to do some custom ones.

I am planning to stay in and stitch tomorrow so hopefully there will be some stitching update soon too!

Shop With Me 4-2-2019 and Update!

Lots for this week… you’ve been warned lol.

First, a quick update on The Burgundy Sampler.

I love how it looks. I can’t wait to see more of it appear as I work on it.

Also kind of a sad little update. You remember the silk floss I got and LOVED?

Fiberlicious stated that it’s their silk filament that’s not sold any more. I’m going to have to hoard these for something special.

Now moving on to the new stuff!

I saw this pattern on Just Add Needles Facebook page and had to order it. It’s my first non English pattern but it’s easy enough to tell what it says when it comes to size and basic info. I already have an idea of the colors I’m going to use for it. Most likely I’ll probably go with cream and red, kind of a reverse of the pic.

Next up just a couple of fabrics I grabbed from a destash group. Not sure what I’ll use them for but I loves the colors.

I also grabbed this from the destash group. I love how simple it is and the colors used. I’ll probably try to make it as close to the picture. It is for a pin pillow but I might just stitch it for the design and instead of sewing fabric to the middle, I’ll just stitch a blue rectangle there instead.

Now my favorite things… that’s not fair, I love that pattern. But my other favorite things lol.

First I got this turquoise silk floss. I’ll be using it for one of my Ink Circles patterns. This was bought with a specific pattern in mind.

Now this was picked because I love it. It was limited edition and so I bought the last 10. Not sure what I’ll be using it on but it will be a special pattern.

Fell in love with this color and stocked up as well. No specific project in mind for this either, but I’ve got my eye out looking for something. I do have fabric I think would look good with it though, so this one is kind of just needing the right pattern.

Shop with me! 3-28-2019

So some stuff to share! Some of it was from a week or so ago but wanted to save it to make a longer post!

So first things first…

I made it to The Silver Needle and finally got myself some Ink Circles!

The store was amazing, I probably should have taken pictures. They had stitched works EVERYWHERE to tempt you. So many times pics don’t capture how nice finished pieces are so seeing stitched items is really nice.

I have some awesome plans for the Dragons of Sumatra! As soon as I get the fabric and floss I’ll definitely show them off. I already know the colors I want.

Next up, I picked up a pack of tensioners from Heaven and Earth Designs. I love the color and was super happey they were able to send one of the colors I said were my preference.

I did want to show them off in use but I have my silk on linen project on it now and it’s just too close to the edge to work. Once I can use them I’ll get a pic.

Another HAED purchase. They’re resin and really pretty. The little one is my favorite, I think it’s super cute.

It’s little, and cute, and I like how the color is on it.

But, and it pains me to say this because I’m a HUGE HAED fan. The sides on the back are not flush.

I don’t think they will snag but wish they were more flush/smooth. I might try filing it down a bit. It’s a personal preference and probably would not affect use. And I definitely plan to use them.

And now my favorite things!

I managed to snag two lots of five Fiberlicious skeins. First the cotton…

I love the middle and right a lot. No clue what I’ll use them for, but I love them.

And some of the prettiest floss I’ve seen in my life…

I love them. I love all of them! And I’ll admit it, I pick favorites. The two on the right… first one is called Clown and the other is Her Majesty…

I’m buying more. Not sure how much of clown but Her Majesty will be quite a few. This is the prettiest nicest feeling silk I’ve ever seen.

I had actually been eyeballing another color on that site and I’m making the jump. *of course I’ll post when I get it* pictures absolutely do not do this justice!

I do have a few more things coming in and once I have a few I’ll be making another post!

Probably expect up next a Burgundy Sampler update. Also fabric shopping, not sure if I’ll post on that… but maybe, I need a few more swatches.

Silk and Linen!

Bit of an update and mini rant. No idea why I haven’t tried this before! Well no, that’s a lie. Linen kind of freaked me out. I decided to bite the bullet and just figure it out. This is my current project.

I’m doing this pattern and loving it. Sadly, the woman who made it passed 😦 I had looked her up hoping to follow and get more like it.

I’m using this Silk N Colors, which I got from Get Stitchin’ and the darker of my Belfast fabrics. I actually ran by Get Stitchin’ again today to grab the last two skeins of this color, just to be safe.

I love it. The silk goes through the fabric so smoothly it is really enjoyable to work on. The only kind of issue is the floss is tied to the cards and it causes some pretty hardcore kinks at one end. You don’t see it when it has been stitched but it is a bit of annoyance.

I’m hoping to get a lot more done this weekend!
